Aific is a rather loosely organized group of young college students who have a shared interest in developing all kinds of software - ranging from boring budgetary software and unsuccessful attempts at an intelligent chatting program to some of the best, kick-ass computer games of the modern era. Our members specialize in different fields - computer programming (for the most part in C++, Java, Delphi, Pascal, and Assembler), two- and three-dimensional graphics, philosophical thinking, sound effects, bringing coffee to the main programmer and thorough testing. All of our current members are citizens of the Slovak Republic, even though many of us spend a significant amount of time outside our home country.
Peter Macko is by far Aific's most gifted programmer. In addition to having programmed CotoBall, he has created several other interesting projects, such as SeaConquest (a turn-based naval strategy game), Artillery Simulator (a rigorous simulation of artillery fire), and Aific Presentation (a program which allows for impressive graphic presentations). Feel free to check out his programs on this website. Peter is currently an undergraduate student at Brandeis University, MA, USA, where he majors in Computer Science.
Marek Hlaváč spends most of his spare time pretending to be an intelligent person, but his efforts usually turn out to be utterly futile. Marek is the author of Sedliak, a program which attempts to emulate a lighthearted discussion between the user and a psychiatrist. His recent Aific-related work includes thorough betatesting of Peter Macko's programs and creating the website of CotoBall. Marek graduated from the United World College of the Adriatic, Italy in May 2004 and is currently an undergraduate student at Princeton University, NJ, USA where he majors in Economics.
Andrej Hollý is a very talented artist, whose original graphic design, whether 2D or 3D, has significantly improved the appearance of our computer games, especially SeaConquest. Some of Andrej's artwork can be found on the Aific website in the Graphics section. He is currently studying Computer Science at Comenius University in Bratislava, Slovakia.
We also have several less active members, whose contributions are very valuable. Filip Langer did an impressive job in character animation for CotoBall as well as some other graphics-related work for some of the not yet released projects. Filip is currently studying Dental Medicine at Masaryk University in Brno, Czech Republic. Ján Dzurek, while he was still active, spent his whole days doing kick-ass computer graphics, and he also designed the logo of Aific.
